Joy Matthews’ passion has been training dogs for over 35 years. While training dogs, God was also training her. He has shown her many spiritual lessons and how to apply them to her life. The teaching God gave her led her into ministry with a very special dog she named Zion. Zion is a champion Giant Schnauzer that is the other half of “Zion Joys Ministry.” The two have traveled extensively across the U.S. and Canada, sharing the wonderful lessons God has taught them. They have ministered in various church settings, including campmeetings & women's retreats. Their hearts are especially drawn to teens and young people which is why they enjoy presenting for academy and school weeks of prayer. Through her unique presentations, Joy's audiences come to see the love of Jesus and the perfect life plan He has for them. Joy and Zion have been interviewed on 3ABN where Joy had a series of programs called “Man's Best Friend.” They have been featured in articles for the “Women of Spirit” and “Review and Herald” magazines. They are also the main characters in the book entitled “Zion”: Champion for God. Joy lives with her husband of 47 years and Zion in North Central Washington. She has two grown children and 5 grand children.
